🗓🎲🎛 Day 2️⃣8️⃣ of @cyogalab #Yoga4x7 is Padangustha Dhanurasana or Full Bow 🎛🗓🎲 Still no flipped grip in Dhanurasana for me so it’s strap work for a while. @yogawithaislinn proposed the beautiful alternative of Eka Pada Rajakapotasana aka my absolute favorite pose in the whole world. And a pose in which I can flip the grip, so I worked on the muscle memory a few times. So many things are changing in my tissues right now after some time of really focused homepractice and some poses get more accessible while others get harder in the process. My One-Legged King Pigeon does get edgy by this and I have to settle into it anew. HIP RELEASING, CHILL INCREASING, STRETCH SEQUENCE | All you need is a floor and a wall. . Tag a friend that needs to stretch more but is too inflexible to do it alone - the wall (along with gravity) stands in as a bit a of help to push you (gently) a little deeper into postures: . Try a minimum of five breaths in each posture and don’t do any of the shoulder stand variations if you’ve never tried them before. Those need to be taught under the guidance of a yoga teacher (live in the flesh, not via instagram) . The hip opening and legs-up-the-wall postures are so awesome at the end of the day and can be performed by those at any level (just watch the hip opening if you have major knee injuries) . I am SO PROUD of this woman right here! She just completed a level 2 Beginner Vigorous Airbender Yoga Sequence today for the very first time! You have no idea how HARD that is until you come and try it for yourself, but this woman did it! I PUSHED her A LOT today! I didn't give up on her and she did her ABSOLUTE BEST which was very impressive! She totally blew me away with her effort! She poured in Class with sweat even though we are having a cold front. I am also amazed at her flexibility in external rotation for the hips. Oh how I WISH my sleeping pigeon pose (top pose below) looked like hers when I started yoga 7+ years ago. It took me a couple years to be able to do the pose at the level she is doing in the first pic. She told me yoga is the hardest thing she has ever done and I am so happy she is sticking with it. Lizard 🦎Pose : Utthan Pristhasana .....one of my favs! This pose just invites you to take a deep dive and look 👀 at your life. Our hips can be little storage centers for our emotions. Unprocessed fears and anxiety, sadness or traumatic events can all lead to tight hips. If, and when we are willing to dive in, it is important to be an observer of our thoughts and simply try and stay in the pose. The thoughts that arise can be good indicators of unprocessed emotions that have been stuffed. Stuffed quite literally in our body and in our hips. The yoga 🧘‍♀️ is staying present and breathing through what might arise so we can actually FEEL. If you’re new to the practice or have confused it with a stretching exercise you might simply avoid this all together with a “ I’m just not very flexible comment.” But if you do, you’re very much missing the point and your opportunity to go inside. 🙏✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #Stelari #hips #hipopener

"Luminous beings are we…not this crude matter". (Yoda) . Hello luminous beings! Day 4 of #SWTheLastYogis is here and for light side we have Yoda, with padmasana or tolasana, the meditation pose for excellece! 🙏 . Yoda is one of the most iconic characters of the entire Star Wars saga! He is the guide Luke needs for his jedi's training, after the lost of Obi-Wan, his ferryman. Something like in the Divine Comedy, when Beatrix leads Dante's path through the light after Virgilio led him through the dark. . Yoda also owns the most memorable quotes, both in the first and second triology. He is THE sage, he is THE guru. The words he speaks and the attitude he has are the ones of any jedi and yogis aim to reach. He speaks about non-attachment, love and mercy for everyone, compassion, discipline. . In Sanskrit "Yodha" means "warrior" and it's clear the remind of his name to "Yoga" too. Lucas drew a lot his work from yoga discipline, and we have many reminds about that, like the name "Padme", clearly derived from "Padma", lotus flower. . The path of a jedi is the same path of a yogi. The final purpose of a rigid discipline is liberation. For yogis is the liberation from karma, from an ethernal loop of desire and satisfaction, and in the end it's the jedi's way too. Freedom from our bodies, from the "crude matter", from our burdens. . Yoda, along with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn are the representation of true jedi and gurus. They found the way to return to the Force (Bramha) after their death, they found peace. Even Anakin Skywalker in the end will reach this liberation, passing through the dark side (something like the left hand of Tantra), through fear instead of wisdom, but in the end finding the same Truth. . IG captions are too short to talk about such a vaste subject, but I truly think Yoda is the center of real connection between yoga tradition and Star Wars saga. ~Balance~ we seek balance in our lives: in work & play, friends & family, etc. In yoga, we also seek balance, though often we find one side tends to be more open, more flexible, more comfortable. We gravitate towards that side, bc we know we can do it there. But when we consistently do that, we continue to throw off the balance. We become even more comfortable & forget how to challenge ourselves. .... .. I have been trying hard to establish a solid practice on BOTH sides of my body. To push myself into the uncomfortable so that I can one day be more comfortable in those poses. ... ..
